Messages from your Minister

Reaching out to others

At the General Church Meeting we agreed to sponsor one local and one national charity for a year. See our charities page for details, and the Open Garden event below that we can support immediately.

'Looking Out' - Volunteers Please

I am looking for two or three volunteers to meet with me as an ad-hoc group to help us think about outreach. Most of our committees and groups, as necessary as they are, are inward looking. By outreach I mean both sharing G od's love through our caring in and for our community and spreading the Good News about Jesus Christ and making disciples. If you are interested in using your gifts and time in this way can you let me know. There is no commitment to a fixed term of office so try it and see if it is for you.

A Word in Time - Methodist Online Bible Study

An online Bible study called A Word in Time. It features a daily Bible reading, background and an explanation of the text, reflections and questions to ponder from that week’s contributor, and follows the readings in the Methodist Prayer Handbook. You can read the study, or download audio files for each day’s Bible study to a computer or mp3 player and listen at a time convenient to yourself.

A Methodist discussion site

Interface is a Methodist forum for viewing and discussing things in the news and other issues in the light of faith. An antidote to the usual artificially polarised views presented in the media generally.
